Kura Denness
Kura Denness MBA CA has a background in corporate finance, most recently
in the oil and gas industry. She is also a director of the following
organisations: Tui Ora Limited, Hauora Taranaki PHO Limited, Te Aroha
Medcare Limited, Te Matai Whetu Limited, Taranaki DHB, PHARMAC, Te
Atiawa (Taranaki) Holdings Limited and a negotiator on the Te Atiawa Iwi
Authority.
Kura is the mother of two young sons and is of Te Atiawa descent.
Esther Tumama Cowley- Malcolm
Esther
is currently a
lay
representative
on the Board of
the
Health Research Council of New Zealand (HRC) and chairs the HRC Pacific
Research Advisory Committee. She is also a member of the
Parenting Council of New Zealand and was an inaugural member of the
Management Board of
the
Pacific Islands Families Longitudinal Study, at AUT University. She has
twenty years experience in the
tertiary
education
sector as a lecturer, Manager of Pacific Development in the area of
Equal Employment and equal educational opportunities and is currently
doing her PhD full-time at
the
University of Victoria, Wellington.
Laurie Manley
Laurie has 30 years experience as a Research and Clinical Medical
Laboratory Technician and has worked in Australia, the UK and the
Middle East. She gained a QTA in Biochemistry (1976) while working
in Christchurch and then specialised in Radioimmunoassay and ELISA
techniques. She later worked in the Steroid Unit (CDHB), and for the
past 7 years in the Endocrinology lab at Christchurch Hospital.
Before being appointed to the Board in 2006, Laurie was one of two
medical laboratory technician representatives invited to attend MLSB
meetings.
Wendi Wicks
Wendi Wicks has a background
in public policy and research. She currently works as national
policy researcher for Disabled Persons Assembly (DPA). Her work
ranges over disability policy, employment, equity, women's health,
reproductive technologies and health information systems. Wendi has
a diploma in radiography and a Masters in Social Work (MSW).
