Medical Laboratory Science Board (Fees) Amendment Notice 2007

Pursuant to section 130 of the Health Practitioners Competence Assurance Act 2003 (“the Act”), the following notice is given by the Medical Laboratory Science Board. This notice sets out the prescribed fees effective from 1 April 2007.

1.   Title and commencement—(1) This notice may be cited as the Medical Laboratory Science Board (Fees) Amendment Notice 2007 and should be read in conjunction with the notice published in the New Zealand Gazette, 14 September 2006, No. 107, page 3202.

(2)  This notice comes into force on 1 April 2007.

2.   Tax—These fees are inclusive of goods and services tax (GST).

ANNUAL PRACTISING CERTIFICATE FEES

Pursuant to section 130(1)(c) of the Act, the fee for the issue of an annual practising certificate for a medical laboratory scientist

175.00

 

Pursuant to section 130(1)(c) of the Act, the fee for the issue of an annual practising certificate for a medical laboratory technician

140.00

 

Pursuant to section 130(3) of the Act, the board will waive the annual practising certificate fee for new applicants who apply after 1 December in any year, for the remainder of the year to 31 March following.

Notice of Fees Prescribed by the Medical Laboratory Science Board

REGISTRATION AND CHANGE TO SCOPE OF PRACTICE FEES

Pursuant to section 130 (1) (a) of the Act, the fee for application to be registered in the scope of practice of medical laboratory scientist under section 17 of the Act for a person holding a tertiary educational qualification gained in New Zealand

Pursuant to section 130 (1) (a) of the Act, the fee for application to be registered in the scope of practice
of medical laboratory scientist under section 17 of the Act for a person holding educational qualifications gained elsewhere than in New Zealand

Pursuant to section 130 (1) (b) of the Act, the fee for application to be registered with a change to an existing scope of practice under section 17 of the Act

Pursuant to section 130 (1) (d) of the Act, the fee for the issue of a certificate of registration

Pursuant to section 130 (1) (g) of the Act, the fee for supplying a medical laboratory scientist or medical laboratory technician any document for the purposes of seeking registration overseas

Pursuant to section 130 (1) (d) of the Act, the fee for the issue of a replacement annual practising certificate declared lost

Waiver of Fees

The Board has waived the Annual Practising Certificate fee for new applicants for registration, if they are applying after the first day of December.  This means that new BMLSc graduates and other new applicants do not need to pay the APC fee for the remaining months of the financial year in which they are registered for the first time.
