FAQs
How soon can I apply for registration?
If you are a BMLSc graduate, you can apply for registration as soon as you
have completed a minimum of six months post-graduate practical
laboratory experience and met the competencies specified by the Board in
its registration requirements. Your supervisor will need to certify
you have met the required standard in each competency.
Note: Postgraduate work experience may commence no earlier than the
date on which you complete all requirements for your BMLSc degree.
How soon will I obtain registration after I apply?
The Board will issue a certificate of provisional registration within a
few days, providing that your application is complete.
Do I have to pay the Annual Licence fee too?
No, you do not need to hold an Annual Licence while you have provisional
registration. The Board will notify you when your name has been placed on
the Register of Medical Laboratory Technologists, and when your Annual Licence payment is due.
Can I pay by credit card?

What if I have changed my name since I qualified?
If you wish to be registered under a different name from the name on your
qualification papers, you need to provide evidence of your change of name
when you apply to the Board. An original document or certified copy is
required. Photocopies may be certified as true copies by a Justice of the
Peace, solicitor, Notary Public, or officer of the Court.
